Transcarent Raises $126 Million Series D | StartUp Health Insights: Week of May 7, 2024

Led by General Catalyst & 7wireVentures, the new investment will accelerate AI-powered enhancements to Transcarent’s platform. Karius also closed $100M in Series C funding co-led by Khosla Ventures, 5AM Ventures, and Gilde Healthcare.

Transcarent, a San Francisco, CA-based digital health platform designed to  make it easier for people access high-quality, affordable health and care, raised $126M led by General Catalyst and 7wireVentures, with participation from Geodesic Capital, Memorial Hermann Health System, Threshold Ventures, Kinnevik, Ally Bridge Group, Human Capital, Merck Global Health Innovation Fund, Alta Partners, and Leaps by Bayer. <source>

Karius, a Redwood City, CA-based genomic diagnostics company for infectious disease, raised $100M co-led by Khosla Ventures, 5AM Ventures, and Gilde Healthcare, with participation from Seventure Partners, Softbank Vision Fund 2, General Catalyst, HBM Healthcare Investments, Blue Water Life Sciences, Innovation Endeavors, Waycross Ventures, and others. <source>

Sibel Health, a  Chicago, IL-based maternal health tech platform, raised a $17.5M grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. <source>

GroundGame.Health, a North Hollywood, CA-based startup linking community-based organizations with health plans and providers, raised $17M led by 7wire Ventures, with participation from Elevance Health. <source>

Livara Health, a San Diego, CA-based value-based musculoskeletal (MSK) management company, raised $15M led by A1 Health Ventures, with participation from Polaris Partners, Providence Ventures, Martin Ventures, and a new strategic investor. <source>

Opmed.ai, a Boston, MA-based AI optimization platform for healthcare, raised $15M co-led by NFX and Grove Ventures, with participation from Secret Chord Ventures, Sir Ronald Cohen, and Unbox Ventures. <source>

AISAP, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based company providing an AI-powered point of care assisted diagnosis (POCAD) solution for the medical ultrasound industry, raised $13M led by Harel Insurance Investments & Financial Services and Shoni Top Ventures. <source>

Blackwell Security, an Ann Arbor, MI-based healthcare-focused cybersecurity company, raised $13M led by General Catalyst and Rally Ventures. <source>

Neurable, a Boston, MA-based neurotechnology company, raised $13M from Ultratech Capital Partners, TRAC, Pace Ventures, and Metaplanet. <source>

Ikerian, a Bern, Switzerland-based parent company of RetinAI U.S., a developer of software solutions for medical imaging, data management, and AI in healthcare, raised $6.18M led by Topcon Healthcare. <source>

Piction Health, a Boston, MA-based virtual dermatology clinic, raised $6M from Flare Capital, Techstars, Argon Ventures, Good Growth Capital, Bayless Healthcare, and others. <source>

Yoneda Labs, a San Francisco, CA-based AI drug discovery startup, raised $4M led by Khosla Ventures, with participation from 500 Emerging Europe, 468 Capital, and Y Combinator. <source>

Hona, a GenAI medical records startup, raised $3M from General Catalyst, Samsung, Rebel Fund, Allegis Capital, and 1984 Ventures. <source>

OptMyCare, a Dallas, TX-based provider of a clinically engineered AI healthcare and risk management platform, raised $3M led by LiveOak Ventures. <source>
