Miist Therapeutics, a member of the StartUp Health community that is a developer of inhaled medicines, raised $7M in seed funding from Refactor Capital, 1517 Fund, Freeflow Ventures, Entrepreneur First, California Innovation Fund, and other investors. Miist has clinically validated its approach and is currently advancing two assets for the treatment of smoking addiction and migraine. <source>

Other global health innovation funding reported this week included:

Berry Street, a New York, NY-based nutrition counseling platform, raised $50M from Northzone, Sofina, and FJ Labs. <source>

Fay, a San Francisco, CA-based platform that matches independent dieticians with patients, raised $50M led by Goldman Sachs, with participation from General Catalyst and Forerunner. <source>

Avelios, a Munich, Germany-based developer building healthcare software to replace legacy hospital systems, raised €30M ($31M) led by Sequoia, with participation from High-Tech Gründerfonds, Revent, and individual investors. <source>

Lynx, a Boston, MA-based fintech platform simplifying healthcare payments and administration, raised $27M led by Flare Capital Partners, with participation from CVS Health Ventures, McKesson Ventures, .406 Ventures, Obvious Ventures, and Frist Cressey Ventures. <source>

Little Otter, a San Francisco, CA-based digital mental health company, raised $9.5M from Pivotal Ventures, Torch Capital, Springbank, CRV, Next Legacy, G9, Gratitude Railroad, and Fiore Ventures. <source>

REEV, a Boston, MA- and Toulouse, France-based medical technology startup developing intelligent, lightweight wearable robotics, raised $9.2M led by Newfund Heka, Polytechnique Ventures, and Irdi Capital, with participation from Techstars and a group of business angels and healthcare operators. <source>

Affineon Health, a Denver, CO-based startup that offers an AI-powered inbox that aims to simplify provider workflows and lessen administrative burdens, raised $5M led by GPG Ventures, with participation from AI Fund, Deepwater, Benhamou Global Ventures (BGV), Headwater Ventures, and Signal Peak Ventures. <source>

Astral Systems, a Bristol, UK-based developer of multistate fusion (MSF) technology designed to revolutionize cancer detection, raised £4.5M ($4.6M) led by VC Speedinvest and Playfair, with participation from angel investors. <source>

SimpliFed, an Ithaca, NY-based provider of virtual maternal healthcare, raised $4M led by Morningside. <source>
