Maternal Health Startup Canopie Secures $3.7M Seed Round | StartUp Health Insights: Week of Sep 24, 2024
Canopie will use the new funding to expand access to preventive care for new mothers. Additional global funding rounds this week went to health insurance, digital prescriptions, infant care, and several other women’s health startups, among others.
Canopie, a prevention-focused maternal health company that has been a member of the StartUp Health community since 2021, has raised $3.7M. The Seed round is co-led by Beta Boom and Aeroflow Health, with participation from the Sorenson Institute, Luminary Impact Fund, Symphonic Capital, Techstars, and a family office. Funds will be used to expand personalized, virtual mental healthcare and address social drivers of health (SDoH) for mothers across all levels of risk in the United States. <source>

Alan, a Paris, France-based health insurance startup, raised €173M ($193M) led by Belfius, with participation from Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (via Teachers’ Venture Growth), Temasek, Coatue, and Lakestar. <source>
Centivo, a Buffalo, NY-based healthcare company focused on making high-quality healthcare more affordable for employers and their employees, raised $75M in equity and debt financing from Cone Health Ventures, MemorialCare Innovation Fund, B Capital, Cox Enterprises, F-Prime Capital, Ingleside Investors, and Morgan Health, plus debt facilities provided by Trinity Capital and JPMorgan Chase. <source>
PictorLabs, a Los Angeles, CA-based histopathology software company, raised $30M led by Insight Partners. <source>
Mevo, a São Paulo, Brazil-based provider of a digital prescription platform, raised $19M led by Matrix, with participation from Jefferson River Capital and Elliot Cohen. <source>
Hippocratic AI, a Palo Alto, CA-based company building a safety-focused large language model (LLM) for healthcare, raised $17M from NVentures, Greycroft, and 7wireVentures. <source>
Ferrum Health, a Sunnyvale, CA-based startup that offers software to deploy AI solutions into health systems, raised $16M led by Foundry, with participation from Catalyst by Wellstar, Headwaters Ventures, and UnitedHealthcare Accelerator. <source>
Koltin, a Mexico City, Mexico-based company offering private health insurance coverage to seniors, raised $7.3M led by Left Lane Capital. <source>
Harbor, a Dallas, TX-based infant care tech startup, raised $7M led by Trust Ventures, with participation from Tim Ferriss, Morrison Seger Venture Capital Partners, individual investors, and family offices. <source>
Cercle, a San Francisco, CA-based startup that uses AI to unlock women’s healthcare data at scale for better patient and business outcomes, raised $6M led by Outsiders Fund, with participation from FemHealth Ventures, CGHealth Ventures, Rogue Women’s Fund, SBVP fund, and angel investors. <source>
Coral Care, a Boston, MA-based startup that connects specialists to families needing support, raised $5.2M co-led by AlleyCorp and Reach Capital, with participation from GreyMatter and Charge Ventures. <source>
Midi Health, a Los Altos, CA-based virtual care clinic for women 35+, raised $5M via a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) formed and managed by Operator Collective. <source>
