StartUp Health company Lazzaro Medical won a $2.4M SBIR grant from the NIH to accelerate their innovative minimally-invasive, robotically-assisted treatment for tracheobronchomalacia.

Lazzaro Medical, a Boulder, CO-based medical device company that has been in the StartUp Health community since 2022, announced a $2.4M Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Direct to Phase II grant from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This grant supports Lazzaro Medical's mission to improve patient care for those suffering from tracheobronchomalacia (TBM). Funding will support ongoing research and development efforts, verification and validation, preclinical work, and regulatory activities for the company’s robotically-assisted, Minimally Invasive Tracheal Repair (MITR™) procedure, using its patented LM Scaffold System™. <source>

Sword Health, a New York, NY-based virtual provider of musculoskeletal care, raised $130M from undisclosed new and current investors. <source>

Eko Health, a San Francisco, CA-based company applying AI for early detection of heart and lung diseases, raised $41M from ARTIS Ventures, Highland Capital Partners, NTTVC, and Questa Capital. <source>

Anterior, a New York, NY-based AI-powered healthcare administration platform, raised $20M led by New Enterprise Associates, with participation from Sequoia Capital, Blue Lion Global, and Neo. <source>

Stitch PEO, a San Francisco, CA-based professional employer organization (PEO) for independent medical practices, raised $8.75M from Redesign Health. <source>

HyperSpectral, an Alexandria, VA-based company using AI for pathogen testing, raised $8.5M led by RRE Ventures and Kibo Ventures, with participation from Correlation Ventures and GC&H Investments. <source>

Raydiant Oximetry, a San Ramon, CA-based clinical-stage medical device company focused on improving outcomes for mothers and babies during childbirth, raised $7.5M led by Cross-Border Impact Ventures (CBIV), with participation from RH Capital, Global Health Impact Fund, VCapital, and the March of Dimes Innovation Fund. <source>

Eyebot, a Boston, MA-based developer of rapid point-of-sale eye prescription technologies, raised $6M led by AlleyCorp and Ubiquity Ventures, with participation from Humba Ventures, Ravelin, Spacecadet, Baukunst, and Village Global. <source>

Sware, a Boston, MA-based provider of a software validation solution for life sciences companies, raised $6M led by First Analysis, with participation from LRVHealth, New Stack Ventures, and Insight Partners. <source>

Spike, a Lithuanian tech startup offering healthcare and digital health businesses a solution for incorporating AI into their applications, raised $3.5M co-led by Practica Capital and TheVentureCity, with participation from CEAS Investments, Plug & Play Ventures, Geek Ventures, and Axel Springer Porsche (APX). <source>
